Masters Prepared Counselor

Laura Lind

Laura Lind (LJ) began working toward her dream of being a counselor long ago. She earned her BA in Psychology in 1976. Her path then diverged into creating a family, and then becoming an elementary school/middle school teacher with a BA in Education in 1988. As a teacher for nearly 30 years, LJ enjoyed teaching Math and Science but always had the Counseling idea in the back of her mind.

Finally, in 2020 the opportunity arose to pursue her Master’s degree in Counseling, which she completed in August, 2023. From October 2022-August of 2023, LJ has been working an internship program here at 7A. During this time she found that she loved working with the clients and staff and developed a strong bond with the mission.

Another previous career that lasted 30 years was that of an officer in the US Navy Reserve. This career involved working with a wide variety of people and jobs. It included travel and work from the West Coast to the East Coast, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Hawaii. This career was an excellent preparation for leadership roles and development of people skills with diverse populations. When she is not working, LJ enjoys spending time with family, which includes eight grandchildren ages 6-24. Motorcycling and mountain biking are her favorite “self-care” activities. She has lived here in Cochise County since 1988.
